Let’s face it – Being overweight is a condition.

I’m not going to whine- too much anyway.   Usually I’m feeling sorry for myself because I’m not a naturally thin person. I’m in good company. According to healthdata.org “Roughly two-thirds of adults, nearly 30% of children are overweight or obese” I say good company because we are not bad  people, lazy people or stupid people. We just have not all decided to change our lifestyles.

That’s the truth – for me anyway. I am a naturally overweight person and I will always have to track and portion control what I eat. Forever. That is what this  blog is about. Relinquishing apathy and accepting the truth that I have to control everything in order to stay at a healthy weight.

There it is. Acceptance and love.  Love yourself – Love your body. It’s gotten you this far and thank goodness for that. Be kind to yourself. It’s not any easier when your angry with yourself. So pick being kind.

Happy February

It’s all relative

I am 2.4 pounds from my new revised updated edited goal. In January I gained 9 pounds sailing past my 2 pound goal weight margin and had to PAY. So because I knew it take me more than a few weeks to get 9 pounds off – I decided to bite the bullet and reset my goal down an additional 10 pounds. So I bought a monthly pass and set out to lose 19 pounds. By April I had lost 10 – that’s only 2.5 pounds a month and I was GOOD – I did not want to pay – I still don’t want to pay – I’m busting my butt so looking at 9 more pounds was getting really discouraging – I am tracking – measuring, weighting, eating the same points – same foods, same running/walking schedule- and the weight is coming off like molasses slow. So I adjusted my goal back up just 5 pounds. In April I had 5 pounds to go and now it is May 17 and I still have 2.4 to goal. At this rate it will be June before I get to goal – A whole 6 months. I lost 60 pounds in 9 months when I started in 2014. This is crazy.

Do you think I’m full of crap for complaining about having 15 pounds to lose? It’s all relative.

One day on WW – the painting

Etsy – you rock!

I am having so much fun. I tried Etsy a year ago and just couldn’t get my mind around how to keep it going, So I put it away and finally it was time to jump in again. I never stopped making my orgainzers for Weight Watchers members. I sold a lot of them to my Weight Watchers pals, and was encouraged to continue- I have just started learning how to promote on Pinterest and Instagram and Facebook.

I hope you will stop by my Etsy shop. Check out the sale I’m having! Use this code and you get a fabulous discount. THANKS2018  ( too cheeky?, I’m still learning).

Thanks so much.

Meaning Planning – Egg Cups

OK it’s another egg muffin like recipe – these are REALLY clean – not much in them and they are 0 points – that’s right , I checked it twice and on WW recipe create and they are in fact 0 points – yeah! Makes 12 muffin cups

Use foil muffin tin cups, and lightly spray with pam.

2 cups Egg Beaters (0 Points)

one large bag of baby spinach, chopped – and cooked in a dry frying pan- NO oil. Top with a lid and they sweat and create their own liquid. Stir a few times ( 0 Points)

one small box mushrooms ( sliced or whole and you slice them) AGAIN, I do not use oil, in a hot frying pan , they create their own liquid and brown after a few minutes – (0 Points)

6 slices of Jenny O Turkey Bacon ( 5 points) chopped, fry in pan, no oil, divide into 12 muffin tins

1 TB Bev’s Herb Mix

Mix eggs, spinach, mushrooms & herb mix , divide equally into 12 tins.

Bake @ 350 for 25 min.

Meal Planning – Mason Jar Salads

Seriously- these have saved me from overeating many times. For the last month I’ve made 8 quart size mason jar salads a week – They are easy and depending how you layer them, they stay crisp and fresh for 7 days. You can add all sorts of protein to them but I’ve found I like to add the protein after I dump them in my bowl. I add what ever I have – boca burgers, hard boiled eggs, chicken, turkey, shrimp etc.

1 jar is 3 points. ENJOY

Here is my recipe;

First I make my own oil and vinegar dressing. It’s 1point per TB.

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

6 TB Honey Mustard

3/4 cup water

1 TB herb mix

wisk, makes 1 1/2 cups

Add 3 TB to each jar

Salad ingredients;

12oz container cherry tomatoes

2 cans sliced beets ( drained )

2 cans black beans ( drained and rinsed )

2 cans Garbanzo beans ( drained and rinsed )

1 bag Broccoli Slaw

1 bag Coleslaw mix

1 bag ( 3 heads ) romaine lettuce

after the dressing divide up the cherry tomatoes and beets

then mix the beans and add about a cup of the mix to each jar

then add equal amounts to each jar of broccoli slaw, coleslaw mix and top with chopped romain.

Wha LA – 8 Mason Jar salads !!!!
